A small tight-knit company with strong morals, driven by experience and expertise
We are a small tight knit company with strong morals, driven primarily by its founder Tony Byng. Tony's business experience has been built up over the last 38 years.
When he was just 16, before forming the company, he was developing medical database systems for a bowel research team, and in his first development role, he was writing teaching management software at SDMS Ltd. In his early 20's he was working at Market Location, a mailshot management firm handling millions of database records for some high profile clients.
He's also been involved in developing a warehouse allocation system for a British Steel owned forging business, managed data analysis cubes in a catalogue system for Associated Independent Stores, a high profile independent stores group. He's worked with a small IT team at Fedex Logistics and with a team of developers at Precia Molen writing a weighbridge management system.
Since forming Mobunti Ltd 31 years ago (under a different name), we've continued being a data and data related service provider for businesses. We've written a yacht advertising system, worked with over a dozen vehicle registration number dealers, written a financial data information system, picking up currency pairs several times a second to allow customers to make split second decisions on currency buying, and have worked with a company in Oxford, for 8 years working on their bespoke content management system. For 12 years, we have provided development services to the team at Greenredeem, a recycling/environmental information service who work with local authorities, water companies and normal businesses to incentivise the process of recycling and doing good things for the environment and the planet. Plus there are many smaller jobs but they have all been data related services.
With our own developments, in the mid 1990's we developed a data sharing and management system for vehicle registration number dealers to share available stock which is still being used 29 years later and in conjunction with that got into the data management of what is now over 70 million unissued DVLA registration numbers with thousands of daily updates. Whilst the PC version of the registration system is still being used, we are now replacing it with a web based version
In 1998 we developed a company formations system integrating electronically with Companies House in Cardiff, and for nearly 25 years we ran a company formations service forming tens of thousands of companies for accountants across the UK.
In 2007 we integrated with Royal Mail to provide postcode lookup services so that clients taking orders on their website can speed the process up by allowing their customer to quickly find their address and also ensuring the address is correct because its come from Royal Mail
In 2009 we integrated further with Companies House and started retrieving daily company registration details to allow companies to market to newly formed businesses - giving accountants (primarily) but ultimately any business access to contact other businesses legitimately under GDPR rules (because the registered office address is the official address of the company)
In 2012 we integrated with several online identity checking services to provide a low cost, no contract service to carry out online identity checks
You might guess, we like data!! We like technical solutions to business related requirements.
Developing technical solutions to business requirements for over three decades.
Managing millions of records with precision and reliability.
A small team approach where you know exactly who you're dealing with.
Tony has had 38 years working in IT, programming and managing data, working in everything from metal forging businesses to weighbridge businesses and everything in between. Much of the Mobunti work has been linked with accountants services and with both his brother and father as chartered accountants, it was little surprise! Serious health problems in his childhood meant that tinkering with computers was an escape that he loved instantly and its been part of his life ever since.
Our administrative support, book keeper and customer care manager. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without Cheryl's dedicated support.
The back room graphical guru, handling all our design and visual requirements.
It's nice to know in a business, who you are dealing with.
